There are a number of websites and avenues to answer your questions.
I can forward you some of those websites but talking with people you will be working with may give you some insights as to area's you want to consider home.
As a real estate professional you can not steer a potential client to certain areas or tell them our opinion as to what is a good area or what is not.
Someone may not want to be close to a school or church where someone else may find those area's very desireable.
Regarding crime rates, contact the local police department and or check on the website for crime statistics for xyz zip code...that way you can find out information on your own.
Do some driving around and follow your instinct.
Hope this helps.

I agree with what Stephanie is saying. You need to do some research and drive by an area to see what it looks like. One person's perception is different from another one.
What are you looking for in your next purchase?
Do you want to be in a particular school, have parks or grocery stores close by?
All these things will assist in determining what area you want to move into.
If I can assist you further, please call me at 602-799-5239.

I always recommend to a buyer to contact the nearest city police station to request an explanation of the crime statistics within the area they are considering to purchase a home. They are the best source of reliable and up-to-date information.... more
Great question! You can check the crime data on a website called www.crimereports.com. This site allows you to enter in an address and you can see all the crimes reported within the area.... more
Real Estate professionals cannot answer this question as it is illegaland and is considered steering.
You probably want to ask relatives, friends and co-workers, read the newspapers, follow the local news on TV (online ?) contact the local sheriff & police department and ideally visit the potential areas frequently to learn which areas you feel most at home in. You might also consider asking people on facebook and twitter if you don’t know anyone in Phoenix. (Not sure if attorneys can answer this either but if they can that might be a good resource as well) Good luck!... more

Estrella is a great community with a great community activity center. As an agent, I am not allowed to write or talk about crime but I would allow my daughter to purchase a home in Estrella Mountain Ranch!

Yolanda,
Realtors cant legally answer that questions. Try this resource. If you use a crime website and it show absolutely no crime , assume that database does not have the data for that area and check other sources and call the city police for more information. In most cases they are very straight forward.

Sue,
Best would be to find out what price range is affordable for you then search a distance that is say 10 to 12 miles radius from your job. If you have children school age that is something you might want to look into.
