It sounds like it really depends. I personally would rather move into a place that doesn't need a lot of renovation unless I was looking for something to renovate initially. However, there could be a certain charm to keeping the older style of cabinets and countertops and just lowering the price on the house. I would ask some trusted friends or your realtor for opinions as well. It's really up to you which route you want to go. http://www.allmarblegranite.com/granite... more
Would you be able to say that you're a good painter right now. It doesn't take a whole lot of skill, but you definitely want it to look good. Maybe you should get a quote from a professional painter. If the price is high, maybe you'll consider doing it yourself. It's really nice not having to do it yourself though. http://www.wallnerpainting.com.au... more
It really just depends on the quality of the cabinets and how well you take care of them. If you get high-quality cabinets and take good care of them, you could potentially increase your property value. You could probably talk to a realtor about any designs your interested in to get specific advice on cabinets.
