I would suggest that you meet with the prospective agents that you will be working with. Once you meet some of the agents you will get a feel for what they are like. Hello, before you spend any money on an appraiser all you have to do is go to the management office of your building and get a list of recently sold properties in your buiding and area. If your managment office cannot provide you with the list then you can go into your local real estate office and ask the broker for an agent that sells coops in your building or area and get a FREE MARKETING ANALYSIS to find out how much your property is worth. The agent can pull up all the units similar to yours that have recently sold and get those that are selling now.
I hope this information was helpful.
