Robin Kay Cooke answered:
Hello Kim,
The public records still shows the owner of record. It does not show as foreclosed yet, but the public records information is often lagging and you can find out more current info from the City of Detroit. The current lender of record is Long Beach Mortgage. You may want to do a Google search to find out where they are located and how you could contact them. Just to protect yourself, you should probably start looking for a new rental if you feel the owner has abandoned the property. There's a whole process a bank goes through to foreclose on a property and would not be able to sell it to you directly without clearing title. - Mon Jul 13 2009, 19:03
