Hi Greg,
Right now you can find 3 active homes in the Gloucester Point/Hayes area with the same features you have given for your house. Days on market are 72, 66 and 32. Average DOM for the Hayes area is pretty much the same as everywhere else 120 days. If your home is priced right and shows well, it will sell.

The high school has come a long way. It seems to be much more structured than it was in the past. All Gloucester schools are accredited. There are several elementary, 2 middle and 1 high school. Quality of living is great over here. It is limited in activities available for teens though. There are 2 movie theaters and a bowling alley. The Boys & Girls club offers a teen center until 9pm and if you by chance have a skateboarder they also have an indoor skate park. Parks & Rec offers plenty of sports to choose from.
Commuting from Gloucester to Norfolk can be a challenge. You have to cross either the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel or the Monitor Merrimac both can be a breeze or they can keep you tied up for hours.
The best idea is to mapquest from zip 23062 to Norfolk and take a look at it.
I hope some of this helps you. You can also visit my website http://www.samanthaonlinehomes.com and there is a link to Gloucester and several of the surrounding areas. Those links will tell you pretty much everything you need to know. If there is something that isn't on there and you need more answers either ask it here or e-mail me.

Hi Rosa,
Gloucester is much more rural than Chesapeake so living outside of a "big city" is pretty much always going to be a little cheaper. New developments in Gloucester have prices ranging from the mid $200's thru the mid to upper $300's. You can find many resale homes also in the mid $200's. Gloucester South runs a little higher than say a home in Gloucester North. Realtors always say "Location,Location,Location" and when your talking proximity to the bridge as opposed to further up north, comparable sales seems to be less $$ the further up 17N you go.
Hope this helps.
