Buying something in Franklin is definitely possible and will put you in the middle of everything as well as being close to work. However, what you'll get for your money will be greater in Thompsons Station or Spring Hill. Either of those cities should be within a 15 minute drive of where you'll be working. As for the boonies, It depends on where you are in Thompsons Station. Some parts of Thompsons Station seem to be seamless with Spring Hill where there are quite a few businesses, shopping, restaurants, grocery stores, etc. It's a great area to get a nice house for that price range. Spring Hill is as well. If you plan to spend most of your time in Williamson County, then Spring Hill or Thompsons Station might be a good fit for you. Otherwise, if you want to be closer to Nashville still within Williamson, you'll need to look at Nolensville. Some parts of Nolensville seem a little remote as well. It might take you a bit longer than your other options, especially depending on where you look in Nolensville. So my recommendation is Thompsons Station or Spring Hill unless convenience rules over the house...then I say, Franklin. Brentwood is great but houses start above the desired price range you have. - Wed Oct 29 2008, 14:05

It depends on what exposure it has to potential buyers, the comparables sales, and the amount of showings you've had with no offers during this time period. If you haven't gotten it listed on the MLS and the many other sources that realtors and buyers use maybe that should be your first step. Have your realtor give you a comparative market analysis to see where your price stacks up against other similar units. Then, if you do have it properly marketed and are getting lots of showings without offers, it is a sign that buyers think it is priced too high. - Tue Sep 9 2008, 19:03

Some good recommendations have been mentioned. The only one I can think of that was not mentioned already might be West Meade. - Sat Sep 6 2008, 19:38

Since the other agents have given you lots of information already, I will be brief and say that Crieve Hall would be a perfect happy medium for you both, in your price range and extremely close to both! - Sat Sep 6 2008, 19:35

You can find homes with basements in the Nashville area, but it is probably not as common as where you are currently. We have quite a bit of limestone in the area that makes digging for basements challenging. However, our topography allows for basements to be a more natural fit. If you're okay having a sloped lot, you should be able to find a home with a basement to your satisfaction. - Sat Sep 6 2008, 19:30
