Paul,
You can check property taxes at the Hillsborough County Property Appraisers website. I'll include the link below. Townhomes are actually very reasonable in price. A rough rule of thumb to use for estimating property taxes is 2%, however this is likely to result in a figure that is too high because tax relief is finally kicking in and more relief is potentially on the way this fall. With prices at record lows and interest rates at historic lows, this is a great time to buy. Rates in fact are beginning to creep up and that trend is projected to continue. Those who continue to sit on the fence are likely to miss the best buyers market in decades. Its not rocket science - lowest prices in years, lowest interest rates in decades, and property taxes are falling. - Sat Jul 26 2008, 19:28
Townhomes in Seffner seem to be a rather recent addition while Brandon has quite a few. Where to buy would depend on factors that are important to you such as proximity to work, or on site amenities or how near or far is shopping and restaurants. The property taxes in Brandon or Seffner should be the same since both are in unincorporated Hillsborough County. A difference in communities could be the presence of a CDD and that would impact your costs. I'm available to help you make that selection. Just email or call. - Wed Jul 16 2008, 11:46
