Beth,
You would have to make sure that any property you looked at was zoned for a kennel. You would be able to confirm the zoning by checking with the city or county office in charge of each property your are interested in. Please let us know if we can assist you in finding a suitable property.

Diana,
Thank you for posting your needs on Trulia Voices. We would be happy to send you a list of foreclosure listings in Marin. It would also be helpful to know what price range you are looking in. All we need is your e-mail address, so please contact us and we'll get to work right away.

Cj,
There is no way to give you an average cost without knowing what the amount of usage is. Also, there are many other factors that play a roll such as energy efficient appliances, dual paned windows, solar attic fan, dual paned windows, if there is A/C or not, what type of landscaping is surrounding the house etc... The garbage has a fixed price of approx. $50 every 3 months and water in Novato at this time is significantly less expensive than all other cities in Marin. Sorry we can't be more specific, but we hope this information helps. You may be able to get some answers directly from PG & E and NMWD. If we can help answer any other questions for you please feel free to let us know.

Zeke,
Now is a great time to buy. The interest rates are still very good, there's a lot of inventory to choose from and the prices are very low. Many economists are forecasting that interest rates are going continue to increase, so the longer you wait, the higher your interest rate and payment. It's better to get your foot in the door now and take advantage of the current market conditions, good interest rates and tax benefits of being a homeowner. We have noticed investors and first time buyers being more active in the market in the past 45 days. We have seen multiple offers and a lot more market activity which indicates that the market conditions may be changing. As long as you plan for your purchase to be a long term investment, which real estate should be, you should be able to continue to build equity over time. Historically in Marin, properties typically appreciate 80-100% every 10 years. We have many years of experience living and working in Novato. Please feel free to contact us with any further questions. We would be happy to help you find a home.
