Question ablut short refinance

John Lawler answered:
If you do a short sale you will not have to come up with the extra cash however it will hurt your credit. Your option to do a short-refinance sounds to be the best option if you wish to keep the place you are in. - Fri Jul 4 2008, 16:41

Short Refinance

John Lawler answered:
Most people are getting a loan-modification confused with short-refinance. A loan-modification is done with your current lender where they can modify the interest rate or the term of the loan. This can be done yourself. A short-refinance, on the other hand, reduces your principal balance, often fairly significant. This gets a bit more complicated and is best handled by someone who specializes in doing these. For more information go to http://www.short-refinance.com - Sat Jun 28 2008, 23:54
John Lawler answered:
I know it seems like it might be a simple enough question... you place a tarp over a house, some bug spay... But if a house needs tenting, there is probably more to the story. It is likely that wood will need to be replaced and now were getting into the unknown. Costs can vary depending on the scope of the job. Have a professional to give you a quote. Anything else is just a guess. Good luck - Wed Mar 26 2008, 23:30
