Schenley Farms hands down is your best bet if you're looking for resale. I don't know what other areas you have researched but you might want to look into Squirrel Hill and Shadyside those two are always very stable markets. - Thu Aug 14 2008, 11:30

Hi Tawnya, I'm not sure if you've already tried this but I would look in the Sunday paper, graigs list, or hire an agent to search for you. Once you have found a property I would recommend hiring either an atorney or an agent to make sure you as the buyer are proptected. Sometimes the wording on contracts (no matter how educated one is) can be rather tricky. Best of luck to you and let me know if you have any questions while you're searching. - Thu Aug 7 2008, 15:32

Its great to get a pre-aproval first, this way you know exactly what you can afford. Why fall in love with a home you can't buy? Its just a good feeling to know what you can afford then find a home in with your criteria. Please email me if you have any more questions, Penn Hills is one of the areas I do cover. - Thu Aug 7 2008, 10:28

Are we crazy?

Naomi Dieckmann answered:
I personally don't think you're crazy being I just did this with my family in Dec. 07 and I am an agent. It's great that you have six months of mortage payments set aside because most likely you will have to pay for two homes for at least two months being it takes about two to go to closing.

Some things you should consider are; is your agent telling you what you need to hear and not what you want to hear? How fast are the houses moving in your area? Are you trully priced priced right in your market? Are you willing to take a loss on your current home in case the six months start closing in on you? Are you willing to rent for awhile instead of taking a loss?

I'm not trying to be the bad news bear here, however, the market in most (not all) areas is not doing so well for sellers.

I'm sure whatever you decide will be the best for you and your family and I wish you all the luck in the world. I know how hard it is to move a whole family... - Thu Jun 5 2008, 11:10
