How do you find out when an auction is taking place?

Cindy Clark answered:
If you are talking about 2584 Bouchard Court, it sold on 6/6/2008 at the Franklin County Sheriff's Auction. The deposit was $156,000. - Fri Jul 18 2008, 22:43

need to find a search engine that includes amount of land with house?

Cindy Clark answered:
Below is a link to where you can search for the information yourself. As Deborah stated, if you wish to receive automated updates from the columbus MLS system, feel free to contact me and I will set you up on this search. - Tue Jul 15 2008, 20:22

Moving to eastern rural Columbus area

Cindy Clark answered:
I would look into Lewis Center, Galena, and a small section of Westerville for a commute to both Sunbury and OSU. - Thu Jul 10 2008, 19:43

Bexley is a great option, but there are many other areas that you may want to consider since you are open to commuting. I realize that you are relocating, but if it is possible, I would recommend having a realtor drive you around and show you the various locations that might be of interest to you based on your preferences. I, myself, live in Pickerington, but find that I spend the majority of my time off in the Easton and Polaris areas for shopping/entertainment/restaurants. Price range and preferences in a home will also play a major factor on which area someone will recommend. You will find that the homes in Bexley will be older homes, but you may find this architectually appealing. Don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. - Tue Jul 8 2008, 21:08

From my experience, the bank owned properties that are priced well below market and in decent to great condition go under contract quick. Searching a couple times a day for new properties that hit the market is by far the best way to find these deals. Make sure that you are not on an automated search where you have specific criteria. I say this because there are many bank owned properties that do not list all features of the home. For example, I just closed on a bank owned property and my buyers wanted a 2 car garage and asked that their search include it. The listing did not state anything about the 2 car garage, so this property did not show up on their searches...I found the property from the hot sheets. Some bank owned properties will have a listing period, a highest and best deadline, and others will simply close bidding as soon as the bank has an acceptable offer. This is why you need to make yourself available to see these properties as soon as they come on the market or you might miss out. The time frame for bank acceptance varies. I've had responses in as little as a day and upwards of 10 days(10 days was only when there was a PMI company that needed to sign off first and we had a verbal much earlier). As far as making offers, this varies on the property, days on market, etc. your agent will help assist you in determining what offer to place. - Tue Jul 1 2008, 15:11
