1189 Hamilton is due to close tomorrow. Depending on how quickly the listing agent gets the data into the MLS, the sale price may appear tomorrow or sometime over the weekend.

Actually, the 30% figure is misquoted above (as is the 9% figure). Below are the Details pasted from the web site above (source: http://www.sfgate.com).

The price per sq ft was DOWN 30.4%. The median sales price was UP 5.9%.

Yes, according to mlslistings.com (probably the best site for the general public to use for property searches), 951 Echo Drive, Los Altos, is open both Saturday and Sunday from 1:30-4:30pm.

Just a point to note. The Redfin search for active listings in Atherton includes portions of San Mateo County that are really in unincorporated Redwood City and are decidedly not Atherton (I used to live there, and I can tell you it was nice but not Atherton!). If you include these in your averages, then you will get skewed data - just like if you lump East Palo Alto and Palo Alto together and look at the numbers.

The MLS currently shows 29 homes and zero condos for sale within the Atherton town limits.

Whether home prices are likely to go up, down or stay flat is certainly worthy of debate, but please realize that the source of the data quoted - be it Redfin, Zillow, etc. - may not be accurate. The Redfin graphs are pretty, but they really don't convey anything meaningful since they are based on faulty data. - Fri Oct 31 2008, 14:25

Before anyone gets too excited about the Trulia link listing the 43 foreclosures in Palo Alto, realize that the list includes MANY homes in East Palo Alto. In case you aren't from around here, the cities are distinctly different. - Tue Oct 21 2008, 12:29

Interests
