Hi,

If you are considering Oakland schools for your children, you should view the Oakland Unified Schools District website at http://webportal.ousd.k12.ca.us/Default.aspx. There are options if you are not satisifed with your neighborhood school.

Good Neighborhoods in Oakland?!

Ken Lee & Mary Burns answered:
There are some wonderful neighborhoods in Oakland with spacious parks, great schools, and very active community associations. Montclair, Redwood Heights, Dimond, Upper Rockridge, Crocker Highlands, Ridgemont, and Glenview are just a few that come to mind. This is a link that may be of interest to you. http://www.oakland.com/neighborhoods/ It gives a brief description of each area.

I would be happy to take you on a tour of some of our wonderful communities. Also, I would recommend attending some Sunday open houses so you can get a feel for the various areas and what will suit your family and you the best.

Hi Sarah,

My husband, Ken and I have extensive experience with REO properties. We've represented the banks as well as the buyers. We understand the process and would be happy to work with you.

Currently, there are some foreclosed homes in many of the more desirable neighborhoods in Oakland and it's a great time to buy.

How is the cherrywood development in san leandro?

Ken Lee & Mary Burns answered:
Hi Sue,

The Cherrywood development in San Leandro has many desirable attributes and the cost for a spacious home can be under $500K. Most of these homes are new and were built in 2000. If you are also interested in viewing homes that are older, you may want to look in the Broadmoor or Washington Manor neighborhoods.

Is Oakland Hills area affordable and competitive?

Ken Lee & Mary Burns answered:
Hello,

It really depends on what you personally define as 'affordable' and which neighborhood in the Oakland Hills you are considering. The prices have certainly come down in the last year. For instance, according to Trendgraphix for the zip code 94611, in April, 2007 the average sale price was $1,122,000 with 21 days on the market. This past April the average sales price was $952,000 with 52 days on the market.

Hope this information helps.

Best.
