Greetings from O'Fallon, MO! Here's one to think about. I am a full time realtor and have had LOTS of folks looking to lease or lease purchase for most of the OBVIOUS reasons that are happening today...foreclosure of their primary home being the typical scenario. If you are leasing your own PRIVATELY owned place..........how would the person that's going to lease it from you know that YOU are not in default on the rental property or close to foreclosure yourself? I've had a few families call me in the past couple of months that had been put in EXACTLY that situation. Imagine how that would feel. They paid LOTS of money upfront for up to 6 months of prepaid rent, plus deposits...........then to have the bank show up and put a notice on their front door that THE BANK has taken the RENTAL home back. They're out of....a place to live with their children, AGAIN......money, that they already gave to a shady owner and will probably NEVER get back.........and luck. I NOW advise folks to ONLY think about leasing from a REPUTABLE LEASING COMPANY that has already done the background on the properties AND their owners. You will get LOTS more action if you lease it with a company that's been AROUND A LONG TIME and has a track record in our area. If you search on Realtor.com & used the ADVANCED search screen you should find an area that allows you to search for keyword. It may be near the AGENT choices.
