If you plan on living in Milwaukee for atleast a few years, then I would recommend you buy instead of rent. There are many great deals in the Milwaukee condo market right now. I would recommend one of the condos on Prospect Avenue - it is close to everything: downtown, UWM, and the lake. I would check out the Sheriff's Sale in the Waukesha County Courthouse for Foreclosures. However, make sure you do your due diligence before bidding on a property. There may be other liens on the property, which you will owe if you are the successful bidder. - Thu Jun 26 2008, 13:32

Is there anyway to find out the last sale price/date as well as what may be owed on 6849 Catalpa?

You should be able to find out the last sale price/date by contacting the Tax Assesor. You can find their contact information at: http://www.greendale.org/

You won't be able to find out how much is owed unless you get that information from the owner (or if it is in foreclosure, then you can find out the judgement amount against the owner). - Wed Jun 25 2008, 12:20

My personal opinion for the best of those three areas is Bay View. You will get more bang for your buck, and it is a very safe neighborhood (depending on where you buy in Bay View). I lived in Bay View for a year and never had any problems whatsoever. The lake is just a few blocks away, and there are many parks in the area.
