I have two homes that i have to decide between...one's from kimball hill and the other one is from Meritage

I mostly agree with the below comments. But I think overall meritage is a better product than kimball hill. However build quality begins and ends with the guy or gal in charge of the subs. Ask to meet them. Better yet, get an agent who will take the initiative to do so on your behalf. Also that realtor should scope the sales history of each neighborhood too, as that sales prformance will likely be the real driver of the deal you make and the growth (or not) of your investment.
