I have been a resident, homeowner, and investor in Glenwood Springs since 1992. By donating 4% of my personal commissions to the school, classroom or program of my clients' choice, I have become "Teachers' Friend."
Fly-fishing, string music, family, home repair and real estate are among my interests.
The Roaring Fork Valley, Grand Valley, and Colorado River Valley are home to many wonderful opportunities. I encourage you to call me for help with obtaining affordable housing, a second home, or an investment property. Of course, I can sell your current home as well.

Ruth Trowbridge answered:
If your agent is getting impatient, find another. It's his/her job to help you. Your home is a huge investment, and you have every right to adhere to your own standards.
That said, be sure you are communicating well with your agent so she/he can direct you to the right kinds of properties. Then, ask for e-mail alerts that will inform you of prospective homes. Drive by them yourself, cross off those that don't work for you, then make an appointment for a private showing with a real estate agent who cares about your money as much as you do. - Tue Aug 12 2008, 09:53

Say you have not owned a home in the last 3 years, and you buy one between now and June 30, 2009. You file your 2009 taxes and get a tax credit of up to $7,500. That money can be used for anything you choose, and you repay it interest-free over the next 15 years. If you sell the home before 15 years are up, the money is repaid upon the sale.
That's an interest-free loan and home ownership instead of renting. It's a good thing. - Tue Aug 12 2008, 09:46
