I lived in Sabillasville while myHusband was stationed at Camp David back in the 90's and know most of the back roads and areas, and have seen the town grow kind of from the ground up. Did the Seller and their agent Counter your offer verbally or by email and fail to then write the countered price in the offer back? If there is no change in the price on the final contract that is sent to the settlement attorney it will be assumed the price in the contract is the right price. This may make for an angry Seller, and the Listing Agent will be the one they turn to. Has the contract been officially ratified? if so you may be buying the house at your original offer. I'm still unclear however who did the countering and who the last one to sign off on the contract was. - Wed May 7 2008, 05:29
