Testimonials
"It’s been a great experience working with Joetta. She’s incredibly helpful and patient. She’s like the post office; she took us out in the sleet and pouring rain to help us find a house. She knew that we were only the Rock Hill area for a few days and she worked hard to show us a variety of houses and helped us narrow down the selections to find the right one."

Home buying programs

Joetta Talford answered:
Tammy in some parts of York County, including Fort Mill, you can still use the rural housing program and I have a lender that can hold mortgages at their bank. Do you work downtown one of the hospitals there or do you work at CMC Pineville? Either way, that can determine what parts of SC you might want to call home. There are some great homes including foreclosures that I could help you with. I just sold a home to a nurse and she had similar issues as you did. Please feel free to give me a call I have lived in York County for the past 14 years.

The Gates at Eastview is a new development in it's beginning stage. There is a subdivistion across the street, the Parks at Eastview, that is selling rather rapidly, though. The area around McConnell's highway and York Hwys are growing, but not necessarily at the rate of some of the areas in and around I-77 which are older developments. But houses are selling in that area. It's not a heavily populated area to begin with and most residents in the area like it that way. Five years ago, hardly any subdivisions were in that area at all, so it's a new area of Rock Hill that is definitely on its way. Ross, let me know if you need any additioanl assitance or if you can specifically let me know what you mean by a growth area. All of the homes in the area right now are prime for buyers, I know that like other homes in the country the momentum will shift in one way or the other towards it being a buyer's or seller's market depending on the economy. Does this answer your question? Please give me a call if I can answer any additional questions for you 704-408-8625. - Wed Aug 27 2008, 14:26

Tena,

There are first time homebuyer programs for the city of Rock Hill and for York County itself. There are city and county monies available to you. There is also a program that you can go through as a first time homebuyer as well. I have been able to successfully walk several people through this program and would love to help you get started. You can reach me at 803-835-2333 office or sold@joettatalford.com. Have a great day! - Thu Jul 3 2008, 04:44

There are quite a few. Sun City-Carolina Lakes has the largest community on the outskirts of Fort Mill in Lancaster, SC. Then there are the Four Seasons and Stonecrest communities in Fort Mill. There are also some communities within Tega Cay that offer patio homes that have certain restrictions as well. I would be more than happy to assist you in your quest to find a new home here. I've lived here for the past 16 years after graduating from Winthrop University. There are lots of activities and places to live throughout the area if you're looking in the Over 55 communities. Do you play tennis or golf at all?
