Depending on your price range, there are a number of homes in the Fairfax County / Haycock Elementary School area. One of them is a contemporary listing that I presently have which has more than 4300 square feet on 3 levels with 5 bedroms. It also has a detached garage. It is within easy walking distance of West Falls Church Metro, local shops, and only 3 blocks from Haycock Elementary School. All three responses already posted are "right on." In Oakton there recently was a development that now has begun to rent due to being unable to sell. This is a brand new project with all the bells and whistles. If you drive down I-95, you will see "condo alley" -- and they are standing empty. Considering the Fed says we probably have another 12 months or more of this declining market, then being a well-informed buyer with a buyer agent working for you is definitely in order.

If you have a Realtor working for you as a buyer agent, they will be able to prepare a comparative market analysis for you and give you good solid information. A buyer agent also exclusively represents your interests. Historically, the fee to the buyer agent is paid by the seller through the listing broker. You can, of course, elect to pay the buyer agent through their broker. Your call.
