Yes, property in the Bryan/College Station area is a good investment as our market remains stronger than many in the country. We are somewhat buffered from some of the problems other markets are experiencing due to our high turnover rate (we are home to Texas A&M University). Beyond that, the economy in Texas stays relatively strong and is expected to remain strong. As always, the strength of any investment will depend on property location, condition, and current market trends...trust your investment to a qualified and trustworthy REALTOR who can help you make an informed decision. Best of luck! - Thu Jun 26 2008, 12:27
Yes, this can be a viable choice for many parents with students at Texas A&M University. We have a wide variety of properties available (more every day it seems) from condo's and townhouses to single family homes, etc. Although the rental market does fluctuate somewhat depending on demand, time of year, etc., many people find it a wise investment to spend their student housing dollars on a purchase rather than rent. - Wed Jun 25 2008, 12:21
Because of the high turnover rate in our area, mostly because of our proximity to Texas A&M University, we have many clients who choose to purchase a property for their student children rather than rent. Although there is no guarantee, many people find this to be a valuable option due to the fact that our market remains strong. There are, of course, tax benefits of ownership rather than paying rent as well as the benefit of making an investment (rather than funding someone else's investment via paying rent). And yes, many people who invest for college purposes DO choose to retain their property afterwards and lease it out. We have several good leasing companies in the area who can help you with such a decision. Once you've made the decision to purchase, you will best serve your interest by contacting a qualified and reputable Realtor to help you with your purchase...and remember...Realtor services are free for buyers in our market. Best of luck! - Wed Jun 25 2008, 12:12
