About Me
I have been involved in real estate and construction for as long as I can remember. I was born in Norway, where my father built his home building company from the ground up. That firm is now one of the biggest home builders in Norway. I learned how to draw architectural plans before I could even talk; so you can imagine where my influence is coming from.

I moved to Phoenix in the summer of 2000 and almost immediately got into fixing up homes. Rehabbing homes quickly escalated into a higher desire to expand my knowledge in anything real estate. I have been and still am an avid investor that is always on the search for that next great investment, either for my clients or for myself. In the last few years I have focused more and more on working with clients, as I find immense pleasure in finding my clients their dream home. My husband and I also build custom homes, which have allowed me to expand my knowledge in the real estate industry even further. I follow the market trends closely, and always strive to keep myself as educated as possible in anything related to real estate.

I currently reside in Cave Creek with my husband Justyn, whom is also a Realtor®, and our 3 dogs; my two Chihuahuas, Mimi and Rocco, and Marley our Weimaraner. Ever since Marley joined our household in the fall of 2005, our peaceful home has never quite been the same. We suspect the book 'Marley & Me’ was secretly written about our Marley! I also have a Thoroughbred gelding named Alazan that I ride 6 days a week and we compete regularly in the sport of 3-Day Eventing.

Together we make a great team that can assist you with all your real estate needs.

Lisa,

You can offer whatever you want on a property. The question is if it will get accepted. It depends on many factors such as which bank you are dealing with, time on market, how well priced it is to begin with, what condition it is and also on the asset managers mood that very day your offer comes in. Generally you should offer 90% of asking minimum to have a shot at getting it accepted, but I have seen offer 25% below asking getting accepted as well although on rare occations. - Tue Nov 11 2008, 20:46

Steve,

I am actually a contractor as well as a Realtor, and in Maricopa County which is the municipality you most likely belong to being on an acre lot in Cave Creek, you would have to get a permit to remove the garage doors and enclose it into a casita to make it livable space. The casita would also have to be brought up to living standard codes, as ex. the electrical is most likely done to accomodate a garage and not living space. Another issue you may run into is septic if you are on one. Does the bathroom have a separate septic or is it tied into the septic of the house. If it is, does it still meet the max load? From an appraisers standpoint he would want to see the casita enclosed and brought up to living standards, he may not look too much into if the rest of the building is to current code, but it has to like Stew said, look like a house not a garage. - Sat Nov 8 2008, 19:30

what qualifies as an outdoor or second kitchen?

Tonje Kearney answered:
I'd like to see that outdoor BBQ. Over the top.... no, just really cool and a great feature when you go to sell. It would be considered an outdoor kitchen, not a second kitchen. And even if you could classify it as an outdoor kitchen, it would have a better marketing value as an outdoor kitchen. Sounds like I don't need to expand my BBQ area, I'll just use yours :) - Sat Nov 8 2008, 19:24

Samira,

This is a bank owned home and unfortunately the listing agent have not taken any additional pictures of the property. I will be more than happy to show you the property if you would like and I can also send you pictures from the old listing from when it was sold back in 2005. However the condition of the property might have changed since then so it will not give you an accurate picture of the property. - Wed Nov 5 2008, 07:02

We would need an address to answer your question. I would also like to advise you to see the property in person before buying. Buying sight unseen is NOT recommended. - Mon Nov 3 2008, 12:36
