I currently live in Atlanta, GA in the Midtown area. I have lived here for 14 years and have become very familiar with the "in-town" living scene. I keep up with new developing trends; hot new areas; the Beltline: where we in regards to the development and implementation of this tremendous and exciting undertaking; walk, bicycle and local public transportation systems for the "GOING GREEN" consumer.
I have taken great interest in Atlanta development and find it very interesting as well as exciting. On the opposite view, I visit almost every new restaurant inside the perimiter of I-285 around Atlanta and a few areas outside North of the Perimeter.
My education interests were in medical and business management. I worked for a medical company for 4 years before owning and selling my own medical company after 10 years. I went into real estate development as well as working with some construction trades personally as well as with the REDC I was involved with as Operations Director. My vast experience in company management, owning commercial space as well as residential properties along with living in Atlanta for 14 years has led me in the direction to getting my real estate license. I know everyone and his brother has one, BUT my unique insiders knowledge into the Real Estate Market through the developers viewpoint, Lending Institutions, historical and future trends and Real Estate Attorneys will help me stand out in a saturated real estate professional market.
Feel free to come to me with questions about our wonderful city and how I can help you find just the right home for your lifestyle, social and career needs. Currently, I can refer you to a trusted licensed professional until I have completed all the requirements for my GA License which should be complete at the end of July.
Thank you for getting to know me and what Im about.

the answer to this question depends on the zip code of reference, type of construction and security features installed and your credit. From my best guess I think you can expect a range of $350 to $650 from the largest insurers in GA.
I would try State Farm, Progressive and Allstate to start. Good Luck. - Tue Jun 24 2008, 14:21
I live in the Old Fourth Ward just east of downtown where change is occuring at an incredible rate. It is close to the negatively viewed Ponce de Leon and Boulevard areas. I can say that these areas are slowly improving as community individuals become more involved
Several areas of recommendation are: Highland Ave. Condos in this area parallel the proposed Beltline and run alongside The Freedom Parkway Bike/Run/Walk Path. The Freedom Lofts have recently been built and have sold several units @ Auction recently. MARTA has a stop in the fast changing area of "Lindbergh City Center" where you can find new condos.
For homes, I can think of a few areas to look. The area between 10th and Atlantic Station over to Northside Drive, Old Fourth Ward just east of Atlanta Medical Center, Grant Park and areas along the MARTA line 2-3 stops south of downtown Atlanta such as East Point.
you must ask several very important questions to yourself:
1. How long are you willing to keep the property even if you begin looking to sell?
2. Do you want a home or a condo. Condos in Atlanta are increasingly becoming more difficult to sell as developers have inundated the market with new supply. A Single-Family home will probably be easier to sell in the future but finding the right home in your price range in the area you are comfortable in might prove to be difficult.
3. What amenities do you require or would prefer to have?
4. How close to local transit do you need to be?
5. How important are restaurants and social outlets?
Hope some of this informatioon is helpful or insightful.
Good Luck. - Tue Jun 24 2008, 14:18
Atlanta is fortunate to be nestled in the valley east of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Hurricanes are not frequent here in Atlanta nor are Natural Disasters. In living here for 14 years, I HAVE seen "tropical systems" move through Atlanta where high winds, >40 MPH, and localized flooding occur. This has occured around 3 times in the past 10 years.
Recently, a tornado, F2, ripped through downtown Atlanta causing damage to windows and the Fulton Cotton Mill Lofts as well as one in Woodstock which cut some trees in half and pelted some homes with 2" hail.
Altanta typically has severe thunderstorms in the spring and fall seasons when a weather front passes through and has high humidity in the summer. Another fact to consider when moving to a particular area around Atlanta is whether/ or not the city has a Warning Siren. most cities around Atlanta which had systems in place have let them fall to disrepair because of budget constraints and lack of public concern. Of late, this is slowly changing. - Tue Jun 24 2008, 13:58

I am always interested in new and exciting happenings in Midtown Atlanta. I am interested in everything from commercial interests and their intentions, residential communities and the people who create change in these areas, new restaurants and the creative talent they attract and, finally, social networking events to meet and introduce others to help further our individual career paths. I believe in the attributes of positive meditation and being present in a spiritual church most sundays.
I strongly believe in charitable causes and look for new opportunities to help out those less fortunate. I currently am members in several diversity acceptance organizations.
I find time to work out, ride my bike, run, get away to the lake some weekends, visit family, and friends, hang out with my dog, travel and make time for my better half :)
I love to travel and have visited many foreign countries, islands in the Caribbean and cities throughout Canada. I have traveled the entire US, seen most of our national treasures and have become very fond of the small-town feeling in some of our communities allowing for a "connected" feeling.
