About Me
I specialize in green construction and green homes. Every home I have ever sold is Earthcraft Certified, some of them were Energy Star certified. I have received Earthcraft training and the Eco2SMART designation. And, I live in an Earthcraft Certified home. In my first 8 months on the job, I sold 8 homes. I'm accustomed to working with many different pricepoints, from less than $200K up to $2M. I know Atlanta like the back of my hand, I've been living and working here since 1992. I can make sure we find the house and the community of your dreams, depending on what's important to you.

If you are relocating, I myselft am a child of relocation. I went to 13 different schools before University. I grew up in Canada, lived in Trinidad, Miami, Chattanooga and now Atlanta and I've traveled the world including South America, the Caribbean and most of Europe. I know what it's like to move. I think you just need to do things like you are doing here on Trulia.
I've had a lot of great contacts that were generated through Trulia, including numerous investors and potential renters. I also have some great lenders that I work with so the loans can happen easier and a number of fantastic, reputable builders that I also deal with on a regular basis.

In addition, you will want to ally yourself with a realtor(s) that have constant contact with first time home buyers or really just buyers in general. I have several listings and I work onsite at a number of communities so I do come in contact with many prospects both from the communities and from my listings. Buyers and renters are generated from all fo those. From the feedback I have received, the rental market looks hot but the buyer's market is getting hotter.

I have a listing in that area right now in that area. It's a 2 bed, 1 bath, 4-sides brick with a large lot and it has a 2-car detached garage (atypical for that area). My seller moved in to that house about 10 years ago (I knew him then) and at the time, he felt he needed to put bars on his windows and set the alarm in his car.

Now, those feelings have evaporated. Indeed, I have no problems leaving my car unlocked when I go there.

As far as being able to rent it for $1,000/month, yes. Doing a cursory glance at rental rates in that area, I would say a comparable house is going for anywhere between $895-$1400.

Plus, for you as a landlord, this house is 2 blocks outside the city limits so you only pay unincorporated Dekalb County taxes.

I too have a fantastic home on a lake in a gated community with 150' of frontage.
2 kitchens, spray foam insulation, in ground pool, built-ins galore, 4-car garage

It was listed at 950K and it's now reduced to 625K.

Where is the best place to live in the Atlant Metro areas?

Tributary is the place to go.

It's a master planned community on the West side of Atlanta and there's a 20 minute or less commute to downtown Atlanta, 15 mins. or less to the airport. The families are endless and there are activities galore, it's like being on vacation every day. It's really hard to believe and the people who live there are equivalent to icing on the cake.
