About Me
Lise Desormeaux
Founder-RMR Real Estate Marketing Results, Inc.

Lise Desormeaux became an agent of change in real estate in the 80's (Do you remember the Reagan years?) by doing what others dismissed as absurd. She listed properties with better incentives for buyer agents for homes that weren’t selling, and bet her reputation on the impact of a well decorated home against the standard timeline an average house stayed on the market. While colleagues laughed at her for wasting time on ideas that couldn’t possibly work, she laughed right back at them…all the way to the bank.

Lise lives and breathes real estate strategy. The fifth child of a Canadian real estate builder/developer, Lise inherited her father’s love of the industry during her formative years. While her friends were playing house, Lise was learning how to construct them, building her foundational knowledge of the industry by witnessing first hand how her father crafted custom residences from blueprint to punch list for his delighted clientele.

Ms. Desormeaux began her professional career as a mortgage underwriter at Continental Bank of Canada in Alberta. She later moved to New Jersey and into to a new underwriting position. Displaying a skill set quite different from her underwriter colleagues, Lise credits her then-manager with pointing her directly into real estate sales, where she earned the nickname “FSBO (For Sale By Owner) Queen” utilizing innovative sales techniques that became legendary. She remained a realtor until a developer took notice of her talents and background and hired her to be Vice President of his Real Estate division, where she was responsible for marketing the company’s sizable real estate portfolio while managing the professional real estate agents of the division.

In 2002, Ms. Desormeaux established RMR-Real Estate Marketing Results, Inc., a company founded on the sheer audacity of going against the norm. Lise took her earned reputation as “FSBO Queen”, and combined with decades of experience in construction, sales, marketing, and business development she then created a company that has proven consistently its ability to sell homes at higher prices in less time. Utilizing her passion for real estate marketing strategies, Lise has blended her real estate expertise flair for marketing and staging by turning it into an innovative full-service company in the prestigious business district of Buckhead in Atlanta, GA.

Currently, Ms. Desormeaux serves as CEO of RMR and her newest company enterprise ESIL, a media production company who's goal is to reach the masses with RMR's marketing techniques in an easy to learn DIY format. To maintain her leadership as a residential real estate marketing pioneer, Ms. Desormeaux is poised to bring her talents to the small screen and DVD by producing “Staging Sells” and “Home Staging 101” DIY product line.

Testimonials
"Service- Interior Makeover Our million-dollar property had been listed twice before over a 2-year period. During this time we hired one other interior makeover service with no success. In September 2006 we hired another agent, Becky Tokich with Morris & Raper Intown. Becky recommended your Interior Makeover services. She assured us RMR would not disappoint us and we agreed half-heartedly. Our property received two contracts within the first week after your services. RMR really does “Transform Houses for Sale into Homes that Sell”. You definitely made believers out Paula and I. Bill & Paula Burnetti-Sellers N. Morningside Drive, Atlanta, GA"

"Home Staging and Marketing that really DOES produce results! 01/28/2008 Posted by hunteratl We use RMR to help our clients achieve their real estate goals. In real estate an empty home MUST be staged in this market. Even occupied homes greatly benefit from staging and Lise and her group do an exceptional job! We recommend her services highly! Pros: Staging has become essential to top dollar home selling. Cons: None we know of."
Robert Hunter / Keller Williams Realty Mon Jan 28
"Excellent services 01/28/2008 Posted by jeremetcalf Lise at RMR offers excellent services and brings results. She has staged multiple homes for me and the outcome is always superior. She goes beyond the call of duty, not only staging the home but she is there to guide the seller and assist (me) the agent in marketing and gaining exposure for the home. You'll be glad you hired her! Pros: Your house sells quickly and looks fabulous Cons: none"

"Great Concept and Service 03/12/2008 Posted by Oxman I can't say enough about RMR's services as well as its founder Lise Desormeaux. As a Realtor, I have utilized RMR's staging service and home makeover service. As the market continues to get more competitive Sellers need to understand how important it is to have their homes showing beautifully. Lise can help with that. But most importantly she can turn a vacant listing into a warm inviting home so it not only shows better but sells faster. Anytime I have used RMR it has been a rewarding experience for all parties."

Question removed

Lise Desormeaux answered:
I'm not sure if going to the principal is quite enough unless your school principal is the type to handle this matter immediately. You really should contact the school board for a more urgent response. As a parent myself with a middle school aged child I would not tolerate such abuse.

Real estate home sales are subjected to the quality of schools in a given neighborhood so I do feel this question does have a real estate community essence about it. As real estate professionals we all want to protect the neighborhoods we work in so we can provide the best options for buyers and their families to invest in.

Shame on this teacher assuming the allegations are valid. It minds me of the nuns at the elementary school my brother and I went to. The nuns were abusive to my brother with a ruler. My mother removed my brother and I from the school. We didn't have to move because of it but, it was not a good memory for my brother.

Hope this helps. - Sat Oct 25 2008, 11:15

Where is the best place to live in the Atlant Metro areas?

Lise Desormeaux answered:
Since it sounds like the commute is very important to you and, I understand that since you would much rather have time with your family then your radio, I would suggest Buckhead, Brookhaven, Garden Hills, Peachtree Hills, or generally anywhere near these neighborhoods. You have not mentioned price exactly except to say reasonable. These neighborhoods offer safety, peace of mind and family style atmospheres with local parks and community pools to die for but this wonderful lifestyle does come at a price. Like anything else you get what you pay for. I believe these neighborhoods are currently reasonably priced since the market makes them so. Also, you can expect a return on this investment since location is King and you will be living like a King until you leave and earning like a King when you sell.

Hope this helps! - Thu Oct 16 2008, 14:05

Relocation to Atlanta... Part 2

Lise Desormeaux answered:
Your uncertainty sounds even more certain in Part 2 of your original question. I believe I can help you with a home in Brookhaven which is next to Buckhead 3bd/2ba that as I said is 40% to 60% below rental rates with no long term commitments. Please go to the reference below to learn more about our program.

For more details about my answer you can see it in it's entirety in Part 1. - Mon Oct 6 2008, 09:03
Lise Desormeaux answered:
I would say waiting if you can would be best. Perhaps until after the election and the market's response from the buy-out plans are more stable and producing obvious signs of growth otherwise you may see the home you purchase today go down in value tomorrow. From all reports our housing market has not hit bottom as yet and waiting to see what the buy-out offers could be valuable time spent.

I would also like to make a suggestion since there are uncertainties in your current career options. Perhaps a more flexible option would suite you best at this time. If apartment living is not your style you can live in real estate properties inside I285 in affluent neighborhoods. Living inside the perimeter will enable you to reduce drive time and gas expenses. Also you can live in these high-end neighborhoods while paying far less then if you rented. The advantages include reduced monthly living expenses by 40% to 60% of going rental rates, live in luxury properties without the expenses, an opportunity to experience neighborhoods before investing or buying in them and a great way to bide your time without a long term agreement allowing you to move when you want to.

The program is called home management and you can visit our web site if you would like to learn more about this unique program. Currently I have a 3bed/2ba in Brookhaven, a affluent neighborhood adjacent to Buckhead.

Question removed

Lise Desormeaux answered:
Ok, now I'm reading your latest question and Candice I have to be honest. If your looking for an impartial opinion then you must feel like your current agent is trying to sell you something and you don't think he or she is providing accurate information or the answers your getting just aren't making sense to you.

If I were you I would re-post this question and get the answers you really want. I've noticed this question isn't getting much attention and usually there are a bunch of answers from agents....truthfully sometimes more then a person wants:)

The question should probably go more like the last question you've posted here but I would leave out the first two sentences and just ask the direct questions for the neighborhood your looking in.

Hope this helps. - Sun Sep 28 2008, 16:38
I'm reading your second question and I'm wondering if you have an agent? It sounds like you are very serious about a home or two and your confused about the difference in price. This is were a good agent would come in to hand you the answers your asking her. Without more information like knowing which homes your comparing, it won't be possible to answer your question with a great deal of intelligence however.........

To answer your question another way. If both homes (I'm making the assumption you are comparing two homes here) are very much the same concerning; in the same neighborhood, same schools, same material on the exterior i.e. brick, same number of bedrooms, close to or the same square footage and I mean close, same or close to interior finishes, appliances and all that is inside the home is very much the same the difference would be a seller who wants to sell and a seller who needs to sell. I'd buy from the seller who needs to sell and be very happy I did.

By the way I am not an agent but I am an industry professiional, I'm just recommending you get one.

I hope this helps! - Sat Sep 27 2008, 09:32
The difference between home values located in the same area is comprised of a number of different factors. Since real estate is about location first you will also see varying degrees of the quality of a neighborhood within a location, quality of life, size of the home, materials used to construct the interior and exterior and amenities both in the home and in the neighborhood. With this in mind you can very well see the difference of house values within a location and they will vary in price starting with small and then even greater price comparisons.

Don has already hit on a couple of factors in his answer like the quality of schools, the square footage of the living space i.e. finished basement and then land size and upgrades in the home. To add to these are the age of the home, exterior finishes such as brick verses other materials are at the top of the list too, the amenities near the home such as easy access to shopping, restaurants, parks, conveniences and these days you may even be asking "How far is the nearest gas station"? - Sat Sep 27 2008, 02:12

- Mother of 13 a year old daughter, not sure that I'm an expert. Just doing my best and hopefully a lot like my mom! I call her from time to time especially since the teen age years have arrived. This morning I was reviewing some documents to delete from my over-exhausted computer and found in the history of Word this letter written by her just last night. It made me proud and brought me to tears! I love her so much!

From Jordan | 13 years old and figuring life out!

My goals

For seventh grade I have 3 goals that are very important for me to achieve, these 3 goals are to get straight A’s through the whole school year in every subject, go above and beyond in everything I do in school or anywhere, and last but not least is for me to like school instead of hating it like before!!!!!!!
To achieve my goal of getting straight A’s I will not be too embarrassed to ask questions, I will focus in class instead of socializing really isn’t that why we have lunch? Also I will complete all my work and TURN IT IN! I will go to tutorial when I do need an extra oomph of knowledge or just need help. Also I will study every night for at least 30 minutes, you never know when a pop quiz just might “pop” up out of nowhere! To do these things I feel that I have to come to class with a positive attitude and be ready to learn and don’t be afraid to ask any questions. Oh, and not being cranky and being prepared wouldn’t hurt either.
