I would be happy to let you know what your townhouse is worth but will need to know your address to give you an accurate opinion of value. It is probably best that you do not post your address on this site. Regarding the foreclosure in your complex and how it will affect your unit will depend on what the bank who has foreclosed on the property sells it for. Hello John,

According to the Marin Multiple Listing Service statistics the average price for a home in San Rafael that you have described is approximately $675,000. Because you are asking for the average price of a medium house I am basing my answer on homes that sold in San Rafael in September and October and that were up to and no larger than 2,000 square feet of living space. I can be more precise if you let me know of a particular area and size of home (Bedrooms & Baths or Square Footage) you are interested in.

Hi , Does this property contain popcorn ceilings? we have a baby and we are worried about the toxins. pleas

I contacted the listing agent and was told that this unit does contain popcorn ceilings. This unit was built in 1972 so it is very likely that the spray on (popcorn) ceilings do contain asbestos. Ceiling materials that contain asbestos were banned in 1978. I hope you find this information helpful to you. The answer to your question is yes! All of Marin, especially San Anselmo and Fairfax are excellent areas to buy income property! Rents are high due to the high demand here and prices are very attractive right now. You should see substantial appreciation on your investment once the economy rebounds.
