As Heidi mentioned above, the Central Oklahoma market is still moving upward. I've posted the most recent sales statistics on my blog so you can decide for yourself how positive or negative our market is. You'll see that our inventory levels are beginning to drop again, which means we'll see a gradual shift back to a sellers market before long. IMO, now is a great time for home buyers to take advantage. Hope this helps. - Thu Jul 10 2008, 07:27

While I agree that EVERY REALTOR should know how to pronounce the word correctly, and shows a bit of incompetence when they pronounce it incorrectly, I believe there are far bigger issues, that contribute to our overall negative image, to spend our time and energy on. You make a good point about the way many agents market their listings, but there is also the issue of the ease of entry into our field, and the lack of commitment required to carry the R badge. There should be tougher education requirements, and higher costs associated with entry, in order to weed out a large percentage of the lazy, uncommitted, and shady characters who are currently allowed to wear the same badge as you and I, the hard-working business owners who truly care about our clients' needs.
I would venture a guess that Don't Buy's attitude toward us is a result of a bad experience with one or more such agents. It's likely a justified attitude, although ignorance allows for lumping ALL Realtors into the same category of losers who should be cashiers at Wal-Mart. - Thu May 15 2008, 10:14
I'd have to agree with 'Don't buy's' response. Do we really have nothing better to spend our time & energy on than getting into a symantics debate about the pronunciation of the Big R? Ever wonder why people have such a wonderful opinion of the professionals in our industry? - Wed May 14 2008, 20:58

Hello Steve. Having 4 kids myself, there are several daycare & pre-K programs here in Edmond that I'm very familiar with, and would recommend.
My Small Wonders is a new one that I've been quite impressed with, although none of my own children have gone there yet.
With my two oldest, we had fabulous experiences with Kids Ink, located off of Kelly, South of 15th St. That was several years ago, but knowing the owners personally, I'm sure things are still as good as they were then.
And of course, the Goddard School, which has been mentioned here already, is touted to be one of the best in the country. It's quite pricey, but if that's not an obstacle, this one's worth checking into.
Good luck in your search! - Sat May 3 2008, 06:46
