how is lighthouse point house market?

Linda Strickland answered:
Hi Collette,
I live in Lighthouse Point and like everywhere else the market is slow but there are some wonderful values if you are a buyer. Lighthouse Point is a beautiful area with many waterfront homes and community parks etc.. The city has it's own Police and Fire depts. so it is a pretty safe area too. They have a great summer camp for kids, a sailing camp and various events throughout the year...Halloween, Easter, Founders Day and more. There is also a community bus that will pick you up & drop you off in various locations for free so all things considered it's a great location to live in northern Broward Co. If you'd like more details on the city or more details about the best areas etc. please feel free to contact me any time!
Kindest regards,

The Victoria Park area has one of the best elementary schools in Broward, Bayview Elementary. I'd start there & then expand outward. If you'd like me to send you some ideas let me know.

Hi Eddie,
Condition is everything from the kitchen, baths, flooring etc. to the furniture (if furnished). There are many original condition or semi improved units that are in great shape but there are also some that need some TLC. The same can be true for furniture, it doesn't need to be new but it shouldn't be really old & in poor condition either. There are many quick fixes that you can do to update a unit to give it style and charm. That's what you need in this market to get the best bang for your buck! By the way, I've got a 2/2 that has low maintenance fees & VERY liberal renting policies in Pompano, 1/2 block from the beach & . It's an older bldg. & not for everyone you're welcome to contact me if you'd like more info. And of course I'd be happy to send you info on several of my personal favorites in the area.
Good luck!
Kindest regards,
Linda Strickland

It depends on price, condition, and location. There are lots of choices for renters everywhere but there are also many people that are chosing to rent over purchasing. If you are working with a realtor he/she can help you determine pricing. If you need help, feel free to contact me as I work in the area.
Kindest regards,

Linda Strickland answered:
Hi Rose,
Chances are you'll need to take the tri-rail into Miami & then take the Metro Rail or a Metro bus on in. This can become a lengthy trip so be sure to check out as many options as possible. I used to teach at New World School of the Arts and tried to take Tri Rail from N Broward into Miami but the commute was going to take an extra hour each way. Finding someone to car pool with could also be an option. So be prepared...you may want to start darning pointe shoes, knitting leg warmers or studying a course during your commute ;-) Check out http://www.broward.org/transit and http://www.miamidade.gov for more info. Good luck! - Tue Jul 8 2008, 02:59

It depends on the location and condition of the home, however there are many homes selling under assessed value. - Sat Jul 5 2008, 03:25
