"I have known you for 23 years; we began in real estate close to the same time. You eventually chose a different path than myself - management vs sales. I am still in sales and now, after three
of our offices joined together, you are my Manager, which, in my opinion, makes me very fortunate.
Currently you are managing an office that previously had two managers, and you're making it look
so easy. You have many personal responsibilities in addition to the many professional duties you
must fit into one day, yet I feel that you are very accessible for any problem I may run into
day or night. Another plus our office has received since you became our Manager is your
vast knowledge of computer technology. You were just complimented in our last sales meeting by
the visiting sales rep from the Homes.com magazine; she stated that we were "very lucky" to have such a computer saavy manager. We all know that! Just ask anyone who has run into your office
or sidetracks you in the hall - we always get the help we need. You are our resource for anything we
need, yet you trust us to run our business the way we see fit for ourselves, and you will always assist if asked. And on a personal level I am also happy I know you.

wow Jay, i agree with the first part... if , for ANY reason, you don't trust your manager, coach, mentor with a piece of company driven business in the form of a lead... you should NOT work there. some managers and mentors do keep their hand in the business for their own personal family business but would never dream of .. even think of.. taking a lead. most are given to the agents except the ones that are either siblings or parents... interestingly enough, i find that the managers who have to do a listing presentation once a year are stronger in their advice to staff. - Wed Jun 18 2008, 14:30
that is great! good advice. - Fri Jun 13 2008, 07:13
Thank you Joe. i was looking for input and that was great. i'm also looking for positive attributes and emotional circumstances that we can use to grow and be even better. to create and maintain a culture of progress and balance. as many issues as a person may have, they seem to forget the 98% positive for the 2% negative. just as the agent takes care of the customer and client, the manager takes care of the agent and staff. what are some positive circumstances, feelings and outcomes that we can build on for the agent population? what type of support and training can we offer on an advanced OR basic level? what do consumers like in an agent - what skills and attitudes can we hone to make ourselves better? - Fri Jun 13 2008, 04:38
