Dear Joseph,
You need to go to the website: http://www.portnet.k12.ny.us/info/index.htn
Then when you get to the home page, click on General Reference, then click on elementary attendance eligibility zone information. It will pop up with a map...then click on school and the names of the roads will appear. I would gladly help you with your needs. I currently have a beautiful home in Flower Hill, Manhasset available and the School is the Salem school. Please do not hesitate to call me if you hav any other questions. Sincerely, Edie Katz - Wed Nov 5 2008, 10:57

Dear Al, Your question is very important and timely for this type of real estate market today. A time and highest price analysis needs to be discussed. The most important concept for you to understand is that pricing your property properly and marketing it the best possible way will keep the days on market the lowest.
Right now since the beginning of the 2008 DOM ( days on market) range from 9-200 days according to MLS statistics. I would be glad to share this analysis infomation with you. Thank you for your question.
Sincerely, Edie Katz - Wed Nov 5 2008, 10:04

The good news is, is that someone thought the house on Avenue B was a good location to buy a homeand. I would be happy to email other listings to you that are in Port Washington to you. when do you need to move by? ekatz@laffey.com - Tue Jul 8 2008, 16:07
Hi there home buyer in Buffalo. I have lived in Port Washington since 1972. In fact, I lived on Avenue B for 5 years, until I moved into a bigger place. It is a wonderful neighborhood and community with quaint little cross streets and Daly Elementary School. On Avenue A there are very nice houses, some rentals, some businesses, ie a nursery, landscape co. , a local deli. I am curious to know which blog you were referring to in your inquiry.
I am glad you questioned this information. The # for the Port Washington Police is 516-883-2200.
Good Luck with your fact finding.

I have my Blackberry on from 7am-11pm ekatz@laffey.com if you need more information. - Tue Jul 8 2008, 14:01

Dear Ei,
The good news is that you have great choices to make on the North Shore of Long Island. We as realtors are not allowed to give preferences but I can say researching through the local libraries in each community is a start. I am very familiar with the North Shore of Long Island and I live in and love the area. The Long Island Sound hugs the North Shore and offers beaches and water sport activities. There are towns and villages, large and small dotted all along the coast and each one has its own personality. I invite you to come and take a tour...it's glorious in every season; right now the willows are just beinning to sprout and the forsythias & daffodils are in bloom. Edith - Sun Apr 6 2008, 07:28

Dear Rik, Unfortunately, these times are seeing more of these kinds of questions and banks are in the business of taking care of money, not houses. So when they do become owners because of foreclosures, they will most often take less than what is owed and less than what the property is valued at.
Another phenomenon which is occurring in this country is the "Short Sale". This is when a seller has borrowed more than what the house is valued at in today's market, and they need to sell before foreclosure.... banks are now accepting less than what is owed...but this is a complicated, long process of generating the paperwork that proves hardship etc. A good real estate lawyer can answer more of your questions. Good Luck, it's a buyers' market right now. Edith - Sun Apr 6 2008, 06:56
