About Me
Let me start by saying very few people set out to be a Realtor from the start. It is more a winding path you walk and as time goes by all your experiences kind of lead into this path. If you took a poll it as to why it would be as diverse as the days in a year. It is something you grow into, the best ones I have meet have always been from very diverse back grounds. I have seen no real pattern just motivated people with the love to help people and some what driven by attention to detail.

I grew up on Long Island (Seaford) and knew by age 16 I knew that I would be enlisting in the Navy. My time growing up on Long Island and listing to all the stories from my father about life on Long Island NY. As a young man he worked on the farms, went out on the water for his calms and other Seaford. How good the local Long Island Sweet corn was. And still is.

I had my 1st boat by the age of 8, and worked my way up to a good sixed inboard by the time I was 14. Even after my senior prom I took a group of my School mates out on the great South Bay for a little moon light cruise. I learned to swim as soon as I could crawl. Growing up and working at the local marinas only fueled my passion for the water. Every dollar I made went into bigger and better boats by the time I old enough to drive I was motoring around in a really nice boat.

It seem almost natural to join the Navy, Traveling around the world by water seemed the right way to go. My 1st tour of duty took me to Naples Italy after 4 years working on an Island just off Naples (Nisda Island) from there on 3 different ships , tours in Mare Island California, Jacksonville, Florida , Cuba yes I did say Cuba after getting my Schooling for Energy Conservation and Saving the Navy over $25,000,000. During this time I was TAD to the Seabees. I think I could right a whole book on that experience alone. The high light was the job as the Energy Conservation Manager in GITMO with 18 hour a day for nearly 16 months it took it toll the worst part was being separated from my family. Since the base made it own water, water conservation was the focal part of my job. I had set the limits to the population for the Island with the numbers I had set for camp population vs. the amount of water we could produce and still have a safety net if the plant failed and still ensure that all 50,000 refugees and base personal had the water required to survive.

All this brought me into Real Estate, having such a diverse back ground enables me to better connect to the prospective buyers and sellers. It has worked out well. I was the rookie of the year for my 1st year. I than started the Eastern Shore Team. It seemed to be the best way to help our customers by combining all our team members’ strengths and providing the resources to better enable us to promote our listing by a larger combined advertising program.

My last 4 years in the Navy I was an Information Technology manager for Fleet Training Center (FTC) Norfolk. I managed a 1,000 computer network both for the hardware side and software. I have training in fiber optics, CD course programming and other IT fields. All this has helped the Eastern Shore Team to be the #1 team on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. In 2007 we were awarded Coldwell Bankers Diamond Society Team Award for 2007.

Well Hello Clarence. I grew up in Seaford in Nassau County I joined the Navy and after my 20 years I settled on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. If you looked into the past and seen Long Island 50-70 years ago you would see the Eastern Shore of Virginia. If you ever took the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel heading south you drove right through here and never got off Rt13 Lankford Hwy. I have been coming here since 1968 with my family and past through to many times to count. You have the Bayside which is like the North Shore and the South Shore is like our Atlantic side down here. Waterman, farms the open area's are wonderful and the taxes are real good. Al I can tell you is what I have to see what I mean. I have 3200 turn of the century Victorian 4 bed room 2 baths. On 3/4 ac I have an old horse barn and a 10,000 ft building (50'x 100’) 2 floors. My taxes are $1,050/yr. Most of my family still lives in Seaford and all are talking about leaving when they retire, just for the taxes they can not afford to retire. If you would like more info on this area I can send you a packet on general information. If being close or on the water is important, boating, fishing and some good hunting as well you would be surprised at what the area has to offer. Feel free to check out the Eastern Shore Teams web site and drop me an email if I can be of service. - Tue Jul 29 2008, 02:02

No matter the market or area I still like to look for the perfect house that meets your needs and than see what kind of deal you can make on it. The home is only worth what someone is willing to pay. The Greenbackville & Captains Cove are all on the Northern tip of the Eastern Shore of Virginia, with in minutes of Maryland and the the beaches of Assateague. Great area if you love the water and open spaces, the taxes are good. I live a little south of the Greenbackville area in Greenbush. I have a 4br turn of the century Victorian on 3/4ac parcel of land an old horse barn and a 10,000 sqft warehouse and our taxes are $1,050.00/yr .Is that good I feel it is. The home I grew up in on Long Island is over $15,000/yr

There are deals to be had in any area. It is more important for the buyer to have what they need in order to be able to move on a good deal. A good credit score, a little cash in the bank does not hurt. The better prepared you are the better chance you have in securing that good deal.

Here is one I sold in Captains Cove on 4/22/2008. The price was listed at $173,500. It was reduced to $144,900 and it sold it for $120,000. The buyer felt that was what they could afford and that was what the owners took in this case it was a bank. Here is a link to that one.
