Tawana, this is a question that falls under the legal realm and unless the respondent is an attorney, as real estate agents, we are barred by law from answering. You need to seek legal assistance - - contact the court or an attorney for advice.

Julie: a lease purchase option may be appropriate for you under these circumstances you've shared. First, is your police officer husband mandated to live in the same county he works in? If not, are there any mileage limitations if he lives outside county? Those 2 questions need to be answered first. Either way a lease/purchase option would be a good starting place for you. It will give you the time necessary to repair any credit issues and bring your score up over a set period of time before you have to exercise the purchase option. Set up an appointment with the SECU and see what they are able to possibly do for you. The mortgage industry is changing daily with more helpful options being implemented to try and stablize the housing industry. This would be a good time for you to research and investigate all your possible options.

Now this is interesting,,,based on your response you seem to have MORE substantive "insider" information on that development than a realtor who works that area..... OH WAIT A MINUTE,,you're not a realtor,,, by your own profile admission, your a "home buyer". While this forum does allow for "free speech" to some degree, unless you are actually in this business, please spare us your NON-substantive, NON- insider, sarcasm. The questions that are asked are from people looking for a real response. In this particular market, the realtor is correct in what she responded with. You know,,, it would make it so much easier if you didn't respond with cutting, ill-tempered, ill-spirited answers. Try being nice,,, you may find you like it!

Dear Tmhayes: I have a feeling that your "request" was directed to the wrong forum... if you were looking to contact the foreclosure company, this isn't it...
And for the record,,, your request falls under a legal action and you would be best suited to address your request/concerns to a legal professional. Most of us in this forum are licensed as realtors only and not allowed to practice law.
