Yes. As you know Lake Minnetonka is comprised of several different bays. There are some bays that have big open water and expansive views yet there are other bays that are more back water bays that are fabulous for wildlife and nature. Often times there are bridges at connecting points from bay to bay. If you are wanting to sail or participate in sailing races you need to be in a big body of water and you need to be able to get the mast of your sailboat under the bridge. If you bought a home on Crystal Bay for example, you would not be able to get your sailboat out to the big water without taking down the mast every time. If you would like to fish off your dock, there are some bays that might be better for fishing than others. If you like to swim off your dock, there are only a handful of natural hardsand beaches on Lake Minnetonka. If you want level lakeshore, this is more difficult to find because most of the lake is not level. Some areas of the lake have alot of boat traffic and wave action. Some bays are consistently windy, some consistently calm. The orientation of the home to the lake is a consideration. Not all lakeshore is west facing. If you want to be in a specific school district, this may make a difference because Orono, Wayzata, and Minnetonka School District have fewer lakeshore homes than the Mound Westonka School District.

1. It is a large recreational lake within 30 minutes of a major metropolitan area. I has almost 300 miles of shoreline and is comprised of several bays. It is one of the very few lakes that has restaurants and golf courses on the lake. Boat to breakfast, lunch and dinner or golf. It is one of the nations best Bass fishing lakes. It is well known for its three yacht clubs that have produced several world class sailors.

2. It is one of the very few investments you can make that can change your family's lifestyle and quality of life while your money is still invested. Lake Minnetonka real estate has out performed almost any investment that may have been made in the stock market. It has consistently appreciated and will continue because of "supply and demand", there just is no other lake like it in the surrounding area. There isn't the volitility that you may have on either of the coast.
