About Me
Originally born in England, I spent many years traveling and working as a gourmet Chef in both Europe and the United States. However, upon arriving in Teton Valley in 1989, I was immediately captivated with the natural beauty, perfect weather and warm sense of community. As a consequence, I have never left.

Many people visit this area and stay, whether as permanent or part time residents. Some find solace in the wide open spaces and views from the open valley while others like me, prefer the privacy and solitude of the mountain forest where I built my home.

I love the valley’s varied outdoor activity opportunities, no matter what the season. I have spent almost two decades exploring the many hidden canyons and mountain trails by ski, foot power and dog sled.

Over the years I have developed a passion for real estate and currently own various investment properties. I have renovated a number of older homes, bought and sold land and acted as general contractor for my own newly constructed home in the pines near Tetonia.

Many years of active involvement in the real estate business coupled with in-depth knowledge of the area allow me to provide a knowledgeable and competitive edge. When you choose me to assist you in either selling or buying property, I will help and guide you through the entire process, ensuring that you remain informed throughout.

How is the Teton County Market, ID doing?

June Davies answered:
Hi Mark.

We have all watched with mixed feelings, the local population and building growth over the past two decades. With this change it is normal to lament the "good old days," no matter how long one has lived here. Why this growth has occurred is really quite clear: this is simply an incredible place to live - year round!
We have ample shopping locally, and the large outlet stores are less than 65 miles away. When I pull into those busy, mega-parking lots, I'm happy we don't have the population numbers to support a Super Wal-Mart.
As for restaurants - there are currently 18 restaurants in our valley with a new Thai establishment planned. Additionally there are 5 take out places and 3 spots just for coffee. Add the seasonal restaurants at Grand Targhee and that seems like plenty to go around for our small community!
Regarding the real estate market: This winter was a tougher one than usual for local real estate sales. With over 700 inches of champagne powder falling Grand Targhee this winter, it was hard to get people off the slopes and away from that great skiing! The national financial crisis has hit us here is the valley, although not as badly as in most other parts of the country. The days of Realtors having it "easy" may be over, but with the onset of spring (lovingly referred to out here as mud season!) buyers are shopping and sellers are listing. Almost $200,000,000 in sales in our MLS area so far this year is not a bad statistic.
Local government sure has their work cut out – our current Board of County Commissioners should be commended for rising to the challenge of upgrading all aspects affecting our growing community. This change will not happen overnight and I hope all county residents will be at the polls this voting season to ensure this momentum is carried forward.
Ask your Realtor to show you a selection of homes under $300,000 – there are some very, very nice ones currently on the market. There are also some great local lenders with many different financing options to take advantage of the fabulous low interest rates. - Sun Apr 27 2008, 11:52
Over the past 6 months, we have seen many new homes come on the market and as a result, some residential prices have adjusted to reflect the increased inventory. This has benefited savvy buyers with increased choice and more flexible sellers. Summer 2008 promises good growth in downtown Driggs commercial development which in turn will boost local residential sales. - Mon Mar 10 2008, 22:38
