Testimonials
"We can't thank you enough for how wonderfully and professionally you handled the sale of our home. We were especially impressed by your complete knowledge on all matters and even more impressed by your concern for keeping us up-to-date every step of the way."
Mr. and Mrs. Woday, North Riverside Illinois Wed Apr 13, 1994
"I want to thank you for all the help you gave me. You answered every phone call, kept every appointment and dealt with many problems I had along the way. After 42 years living in this home, deciding to sell wasn't easy."
Mrs. Czaplak, North Riverside Illinois Fri May 5, 1995
"These two words "THANK YOU" cannot say how much we appreciate everything you did for us and what a pleasure it was working with you in selling our home. You kept your word in everything you said you would do and more."
Plapp Family, Berwyn Illinois Wed Oct 6, 1999
"We want to express our deepest gratitude for helping us, not only sell our home, but for your professionalism and honesty. We never realized how much work and behind the scenes activity really goes on when trying to sell a home. We came to you with a problem and a time frame to sell and were able to do it. We can tell you that if someone asks for a recommendation, we won't hesitate to mention your name. Thank again for all your hard work."
Mr. and Mrs. Houda, Berwyn Illinois Wed Sep 1, 2004
"I tried for many months to sell "by owner", tried a Realtor which proved unsuccessful, gave up and rented it. That was a nightmare. Then you came into our lives and now we're free from all the worries and headaches manifested from trying to sell a home. I'll continue to recommend you to everyone I know who wants to sell or buy a home."
Mr. and Mrs. Mays, Lyons Illinois Tue Mar 23, 1999
"We tried selling our house last summer with another agent and had no luck. Working with you was the difference between night and day. We never saw anyone work so hard to sell a house."
Krajniak Brothers, Lyons Illinois Wed Mar 27, 1996
"We wanted to thank you for helping us to finally sell our home. As you know, we had it listed with two other Realtors before we decided to call you. You came in with some new ideas and fresh suggestions. Selling a house has been one of the most stressful things we have experienced and you helped to make it bearable."
Mr. and Mrs. Lichwa, Lyons Illinois Thu Nov 13, 1997
"I do not have enough postive things to say about Brandon. He is very professional and knowledgeable about real estate. We were very frustrated when we first called Brandon. From the time I called him we realized he was very organized, honest and direct. And the bottom line is that he sold our home in 1 day."
Mr. Mayer, Lyons Illinois Tue Sep 15, 1998
"As you know we tried selling with a discount broker first without success and with much frustrastion. You honored your commitment to us and for that we are greatful. Keep up the great work. You are an asset to your field and we're sure you will continue to be very successful."

My opinion is that it will sell for a lot more and chances are it will sell to an invester, but give it a try. - Yesterday, 08:28
That was a hot property. From my understanding, there was a verbal request that an offer would be put in at 650,000 and nobody ever called them back. That leads me to believe the house sold for more then that. - Yesterday, 07:55

Can anyone tell me info on Hawthorn Estates in Schaumburg?

Brandon Schuppe answered:
You hit the nail on the head Lyn. First of all, you're right. The buyer asked about "Hawthorne Estates" and that's what I answered about. That has nothing to do with knowing the area. "You" challenged my knowledge of "the area" to the person asking the question. You basically suggested to the person that they shouldn't work with me (Illinois Licenced Real Estate Agent) because I was from Berwyn and I'm not familiar with the area. That's not being thin skinned. That's you making false accusations. Read it and learn it Lyn.

Article 15
REALTORS® shall not knowingly or recklessly make false or misleading
statements about competitors, their businesses, or their business
practices. (Amended 1/92)
• Standard of Practice 15-2
The obligation to refrain from making false or misleading statements

duty applies whether false or misleading statements are repeated in

any other means. (Adopted 1/07)

I worked with REMAX in Berwyn for 15 years and I'm surprised. - Tue Jul 22 2008, 14:21
Lyn,

I apoligize for being so forward, but I'm shocked that you would say something like that.

First of all I'm not "from" Berwyn. My office is in Westchester and I live in North Riveriside. As for my knowledge of Schaumburg. My family lived in Elk Grove Village for over 40 years. They worked in Schaumburg, Elk Grove Village and my grandfather worked at the BP O'Hare terminal on Elmhurst road, in Des Plaines for 28 years. My father worked for the Cook County Forest Police in the Busse Woods area for many years.

Please don't come on a public forum and openly violate the code of ethics by making wrong accusations about other realtors and their business.

P.S. If you have a buyer, I have a nice listing at 117 Shadywood Lane in Elk Grove Village on the market. - Tue Jul 22 2008, 12:14
Our office is handeling the sales at Hawthorne Estates. We just had a huge price reduction. The 1 bedroom Aspen Units starts at $132,900 now, the 2 bedroom Walnut Unit starts at $169,900 and the other 2 bedroom Oak Unit starts at $181,900.

If you click my website link, then the SKYDAN link, under "our companies" you'll find our development link which will take you to the Hawthorne website.

Send me an email if you have any other questions. - Thu Jul 17 2008, 14:09

All I can say is...Thank God we live in a State who uses attorneys for real estate transactions. I'm curious as to what your attorney told you because I have some concerns for you, yet I wouldn't get to worried yet. - Tue Jul 22 2008, 12:54

Many of the towns around my area have homes that were built during that time. Standard Brick ranches and Bi-Levels with basemens and lower level family rooms. Some have side drives. Standard 35X125 foot lot and up. You're about 15 miles outside of down town Chicago and right in between I55 (Stevenson Expressway) and I290 (Eisenhower Expressway). Some of towns, to give you an idea, are Lyons, Brookfield, North Riverside, Broadview and Westchester. If you go to my website and scroll down towards the bottom I'm in the process of building links for the surrounding towns here. Some are ready to click.

Let me know if I can be of any help. - Tue Jul 22 2008, 11:43

What are the best Chicago suburbs and why?

Brandon Schuppe answered:
I talked to Terri myself and I even received a email fom NAR and Realtor Magazine. I guess this blog was looked at by a few people and they agreed that it was a fine line.

I truly feel that a good debate is productive. - Thu Jul 17 2008, 15:22
Al (Elvis),
Thanks for the email and to make it clear I called Al and left him a message. He was nice enough to call me back. We discussed this issue and as far as I'm concerned it's cleared up. Al spoke with someone who I have a great deal of respect for and has a great deal of knowledge with this. This person did clearify "Steering" and even though this may not have been "steering" it's a fine line. Al and I had a nice conversation.

As for the "Berwyn" comment, Berwyn is one of the towns I do business in. My office is not located in Berwyn. Because the towns are listed alphabetically, Berwyn is the top town on the list. If you click the link it will show you all the other towns.

Al ... thanks again and I'm sure we'll speak soon. - Tue Jul 8 2008, 14:37
One more time ... I don't make the rules. I was just trying to be helpful, but now it has taken a turn to getting personal by insulting me, behind a fake name (Carlin), with no contact information. That's called a "coward" in my book. If you want to get personal then insult me to my face. I would love the chance to meet you (Carlin), but then again people like you hide under rocks.

I don't live in Berwyn and my office is not in Berwyn. - Tue Jul 8 2008, 09:20
Elvis ... I'm sorry that you disagree. All I can suggest to you is to call the IAR and ask them. One more thing also and I'm sure you'll disagree again but you're on here as a Licensed Real Estate Agent / Broker. You're giving adviseabout common real estate questions. Are you aware that any and all uses of the internet, via emails, blogging etc. you're suppose to use your real name during any introduction of yourself. Using the name Elvis doesn't cut it.

I'm sorry, I don't make the rules. - Tue Jul 8 2008, 08:26
Laura,
I completely agree with you and the fact that you agree with Elvis. I served as the Chairman for the Grievance Board for the West Town Board of Realtors for 7 years. Every year we had to attend updated seminars on all the new items that were getting Real Estate Agents in trouble.

This online blogging and what Realtors are saying is becoming one of the largest problems. If someone came into your office and asked what's a good town to live in, we can't touch that question. Blogging is no different. People are coming on here and asking for recommendations as to where is a good town to live and Realtors are yelling out "specific" towns.

By giving levels of populations, transportation, schools and things that pertain to that kind of makeup, we're fine, but when we start talking about "anything" that discusses "cultures" you're really running a thin line. Cultures can easily be construed as ethnic backgrounds and that falls under Fair Housing.

I'm truly concerned that there are agents out there that lack education on this and are willing to say anything just to get a sale. - Mon Jul 7 2008, 16:51
Mark,
Steering is a huge concern and most agents who would try to convince you to buy in a certain town or area would be in violation. Many of these questions and answers on websites, such as this, is watched and monitored. Agents can answer "basic" questions, like populations and transportation options. If you have a specicfic questions like this then most Realtors can help you to make decisions.

I live in the suburbs myself with my wife and 2 daughters. I was raised here and I enjoy it. - Mon Jul 7 2008, 12:23
