Here is another company to look at...

Jaime DeLong

Property Mangement Division

Jaime does a fabulous job with my relocation clients because, like you, so many of those clients want to rent prior to making the plunge to buy...

Hope this helps!

Why DO you want to cut out your agent/friend?

WIthout a contract you are not "legally" required to use that agent. However in our "sue happy" society, would your friend come back and sue you for "Procuring Cause"? What are (and where are) your morals and values? Is there a valid reason? . - Sat Feb 9 2008, 10:59

what does the housing market look like in Seattle, WA?

Karen Miceli answered:
Melissa,

Compared to the rest of the nation, the Puget Sound has had a great housing market. Nothing like 2005 and definitely back to more of a "realistic" market. Things are moving a smidge slower than usual. Yet, as you have heard before, there are many buyer's sitting on the fence waiting for something to happen. Our job market is fabulous, in fact many companies are hiring and adding employees, and interest rates are low, all adding to a great market.

King County is the hub but there are a lot of great areas that surround Seattle going North and going South of Seattle. I am in Pierce County about 30-40 minutes south of Seattle. Pierce County has affordable housing with an average selling price in 2007 of 396,000.

I specialize in relocations and have had many a client say to me that this was the best move they made. They love it here as much as I do. Hope that helps...

Jeanie,

It is really best to work with a Real Estate agent on these although with much investigation on your side, you could do it alone. There are many agents that deal mostly with foreclosures and are truly experts in the field of forclosures. It may be worth the help. If you would like help finding a foreclosure expert in Bremerton and the area, don't hesitate to call me or email and I will help you find one.

If you go to your county website and find the accessors site. You should be able to pull up the address or Parcel number and get alot of information about the property. Also, an agent can help you do this.

Nikole,

Your move should be based on what you prefer. There will always be buyers that will want water vs mountain or mount.ain vs. water. It should also be your choice on old or new.

I love the edgewood area, but because there is many new developments going in. It is one of the up and coming areas in Pierce County. Also, I like Edgewood because you can actually get land and not hand sugar to your neighbor through the kitchen window. :) But, I love to look at the water, too, so NE Tacoma, North Tacoma, UP and Steilacoom are great Pierce County neighborhoods to be able to do that in.

The housing market is very cyclical and if you think of your home as a long term investment, you really can't go wrong with the decision you make. If you plan on making a short term move (2 years or less) then I would stay put. We are so lucky to live in the Pacific NW because of our wonderful housing market compared to the rest of the country. There are so many decision to make. What is the reason for your move? Upgrade? Downsize? To make commute easier? Schools?

Hope this helps!
