Chad,

You are spoiled by having the PATH (and ferries) to get you to NYC. Warren doesn't have a train station itself, but there are stations in Gilette and Stirling in Long Hill Township. These are on the NJ Transit Gladstone line, which takes you to the Hoboken station. I recommend to anyone who needs to commute to NYClooking to purchase in the NJ suburbs that they make use of the NJTransit.com website and it's itinerary planner. plug in the address of the property you are considering and your destination, and the website will tell you what public transportation is available. It's not perfect, and sometimes you have to tweak your input to get real answers (like it thinks my house is in Union County, when it is in Somerset County...) As far as driving it, always do a dry run, but be aware that it takes a long time if you try to drive it at peak rush times. I spent the last 14 years selling real estate in Hudson County and have lived out in Somerset County since 2000. Diving has been my only realistic option, but it STILL astounds me how long it can take. I stoppedscheduling appointments for before 10AM and I avoided leaving for home between 4 PM and 7 PM. A combo commuting option to consider is driving to Newark and parking near Newark Penn Station (I'm not sure what the proper name is for it...) It's important to have options. Contact me offlist to discuss further. - Thu Oct 8 2009, 06:53
