First of all, Welcome home. Being a Retired Air Force wife and having lived over seas for most of his career I understand a lot of what you are soon facing. You need to get a pre-approval as soon as possible. Go to your credit union they will be able to help. Check your credit scores, and make sure you have a update on your VA. Next question is do you have children? If so what age? We have some great schools here but you might want to check them out, espically if you have children with special needs.(my son is special needs) or if they enjoy sports,music,arts, etc. Have you decided what your top is for payments? Make sure you include your mortgage,insurance,taxes,Home owners association then you need to figure out how many bedrooms,baths and garage spaces you need.
