I have travelled extensively through Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas. And my interests vary widely - the Arts (theater, concerts, etc), cooking (Asian particularly), travel, marathon running (over 30 years!!) .....
I have been a buyer of international property for over 20 years. I am a full time resident and licensed REALTOR on Maui, Hawaii.
Tony Rees's Questions (1)
Joseph, feedback I've had is that prospective buyers expect that there will be a big crash here in Maui and that prime properties will be available for 50% below today's levels! Too much media coverage of sub-prime problems, the risk of rising foreclosures and weak national sales is scaring people.
I agree with you - it is a great time to be a buyer.... good inventory, prices and terms increasingly negotiable, mortgages still available, etc. Tell the prospective buyer to help drive down prices - Make An Offer! - Mon Sep 10 2007, 20:27
It all depends......
In a slow market inventories usually build. As a consequence, buyers have choices. A good Realtor should have refined that inventory to the best properties that are well priced for the buyer. That done .... the offer should occur at the end of the first showing. Now, getting to a meeting of the minds and through escrow in a slow market .... that is a different question! - Mon Sep 10 2007, 19:40
