Hi Jeff,
First, speak to a lender. You must find out your buying power before you even start looking. You can get a no-cost, no-obligation pre-approval from the VanZandt Group with Prosperity Mortgage. They are wonderful to work with and are great at figuring out which loan program will best suit your needs. Thier website is
http://www.TheVZGroup.com.
Also, you do NOT have to be a veteran to qualify for an FHA loan. Again, Prosperity will be able to help you figure out what is best for your circumstances.
Once you've determined your buying power, search the local MLS at
http://www.HomesDatabase.com. If you have any questions about what you find there, or if there's anything else I can do to help, please just let me know. I'm happy to help however I'm able!
