I am a graduate of the University of Texas at Tyler with a B.S. in Speech Communications, and am married to a R.N. named Jennifer. As an e-PRO Realtor, I am able to use different skills some other agents are not even aware of. I love to read, write, blog, fish, hunt, learning, and of course, everything real estate.

I'm not sure about CA, but in Texas everything must be in writing to be legal. My take is if both sides have not signed, then you do not have an executed contract. You should check with a local attorney to be sure. I hope this helps. Also, did you have an option period? If you did and gave an option money check, you may be able to back out anyway without losing your earnest money, but would lose the option money. Again seek legal advice if you are not sure. An agent can only give you advice, but should be able to guide you. If you are not certain, definitely seek legal advice, it's better than the alternative... - Sun Jun 29 2008, 18:53
