While Scottsdale is a fine area, it certainly will strain the finances - especially in the long term.

Tucson on the other hand is growing at a steady pace and offers an incredible array of shopping, restaurants, events and attractions to keep anyone happy. The NW side of Tucson is only 1 hour 25 minutes from the Phx airport with an incredible selection of homes that could fit your needs.

Hi Chris - Phoenix is a big place with lots of fine areas, but the conjestion will remind you very quickly of Los Angeles. Tucson on the other hand is also a very fine City and not nearly as congested and crowded. Perhaps a beautiful Active Adult Community in NW Tucson - Heritage Highlands at Dove Mountain might be just what you and your wife are looking for. Plenty of fine homes to choose from in your price range - more amenities than you will find in any other community of this type (And 24 hour gated security). Only 1 hour & 25 minutes to the Phx airport. The Dove Mountain area is lush and at an elevation with Giant Saguaro Cactus all around, incredible views of the Mountains and City Lights.

There are a number of fine homes in Heritage Highlands at Dove Mountain around that price range. Thanks to this being a "Buyer's Market" though, you can and should think a bit higher as any home on the market for some time could be willing to go lower. Hi Jeff - the majority of my business is done in Heritage Highlands and Dove Mountain. There is currently one home in a "Short Sale" status for $259,000, but should be able to be gotten for less. It is a Hillsboro floorplan (very popular) with 1702 sq ft. No views but the home is a bargain at this pricing. Short Sale will be dealing with the Bank.
