Testimonials
"I hired Jeff about 8 years ago for my first investment property. I am still using his services today. Most agents seem to disappear after a few years. Jeff has stuck it out and does a great job. Give him a call, I bet you will feel the same way. Brad"

Bought New Home

Jeff Kessler answered:
You will have to look at the HUD and see. You should contact the title where you closed. Usually in Oct. the title co takes care of paying the taxes on behalf of you and the builder. If not then on the HUD there should be a credit from the builder to the buyer. Then it is the buyers responsiblity to pay the taxes for the whole year. I would have to see the HUD to be sure. You should contact your agent for a better response. - Thu Jul 24 2008, 15:59

Williamson or Travis County?

Jeff Kessler answered:
Depends on what school district you want to live in and even how far your drive with be. Are you looking at new or resale? What other areas are you interested in? Let me know.

Jeff Kessler answered:
You just have to find your comfortability. Then you will know. From experience I have bought a few homes. and it doesn't get easier. Not to scare you, but you need to find what you need. I would just say to look at the future and know what you want from it. Get an agent and proceed with it.

Is now a bad time to buy in Austin?

Jeff Kessler answered:
It is not irresponsible at all, but saying all "Realtor are starving" is just wrong. You are speaking for over 9,000 people. Now if you can tell me the situation of all of them then maybe I would agree. This makes you sound bitter. You are insulting a whole community.

Austin is on a different path than other parts of the country. Most of what is happening is really in a few states. Austin has only gone up about 28% in the last 5 years. How far do you think we can drop?
I do agree about some of the lending issues, but telling someone not to buy a home in a buyers market is very strange. You should read the Austin Business Journal and other respected publications and not just what is put out there by the popular media.

I agree I don't want to go any further either, but you insulted a lot of people who do a wonderful job in this business and market.

Sorry to tell you Dino, but Trulia does not have accurate numbers as Texas is a non disclosure state. Are you sure you are a professional in Real Estate or just bitter in life.

Paul,
If you are looking to live in the home for a few years it can be a good time to buy. FHA is great as you can combine it with other programs and move in for almost zero down. The seller can contribute to closing and that is negotiable. Just ask your lender about different programs. If you have other questions please email me. jkagent@gmail.com - Thu Jul 17 2008, 14:17
