Ricky Tallent Is Now.... Living His Dream.
Ricky Tallent graduated from Bradley Central High School in May 1988. He married his high school sweetheart that same year, Lori Linn Tallent, his wife now of twenty-two years. They have one daughter, Whitney, who is a senior at Walker Valley High School. Ricky began his manufacturing career in 1988 and continued in that field for twenty-one years. During that time he also began a part time career in real estate. A true passion for him.
Defining Moment
During his manufacturing career and from an early age, Ricky has always loved to buy, sell and trade. He was top seller in fund raisers in elementary school. He sold bicycles as a kid and cars as a teenager. As a young adult, Ricky studied and achieved his Master Gardener's Certification. He began a greenhouse where he sold plants and vegetables. Finally, Ricky started collecting antiques to resale. Life changed for him in March 2009, when he was laid off from his manufacturing job.
Seeking a New Challenge
Even though Ricky was devasted at the loss of his job, he knew he did not want to spend the rest of his working career in a factory. Before the layoff he prayed for guidance for over a year and knew without a doubt God was laying out a plan for his life.
Blossoming "Tallent"
Since Ricky's layoff in 2009 he decided to continue in real estate full time. In the first seven months of 2010 he sold twenty homes. Ricky set a goal to sell two million dollars at the beginning of the year. He met that goal in the first six months. Ricky gives God all the glory for the blessings in his life.
Fun Facts
Ricky loves the great outdoors. He enjoys fishing, gardening and biking. His latest hobby is to flip houses. Ricky also enjoys spending time with his family.
"I have always bought and sold things my whole life. One day when my daughter was about ten years old, she asked me 'Daddy why don't you sell real estate?' I thought about it for a moment but did not let her know the thought scared me. I explained to her the simplicity of yard sales (resale) and also the challenges of real estate.
