About Me
The oldest out of 8 children, I grew up in Rehoboth Massachusetts on a small farm. As a result, there was always much to do. My strong work ethic is a direct correlation on how I was raised.
My husband Andrew and I have been married for 21 years. We have 3 children.. Andrew (18), Melissa (20), and Katey (26). We currently reside in Berkley, MA. Andrew, my husband is also a licensed agent and is part of the Lincoln Team.
Prior to Real Estate, I worked in the Advertising Business as an Account Executive for the Providence Journal's Town Crier. Comcast Spotlight and Supercoups.

If you are concerned about the crime rate for the area, you can go to your local police station and see police reports. Are you looking to invest long term or short term. Long term, real estate has always been one of the best investments, no guarantees, but likelihood is high that you would realize appreciation over time.
I will look into this and see how many in the complex have sold and what the prices are.
You can also find neighborhood/community info on my website

I am thrilled for you that you are able to buy with the Ameridream program. I have buyers that qualify, but the banks are saying no because the program ends as of 10/1/08. I am concerned that nobody has at least given you an update, even if nothing has come about, you deserve a call. If you don't get a phone call on Monday, you should go to the mortgage office for answers. This has to be stressful for you, not knowing can put anyone on edge. My advice to you is to buy a few days from your landlord to stay a little longer.

I work with many investors that try to buy homes directly from the bank, none of which have been successful.
The bank likes to have the properties listed by realtors. You could try, but perhaps you could be wasting your time.

If you had a termite inspection and the report was negative, you should contact the company that inspected for termites. If the area of the home experienced any environmental changes since then, such as dampness, this could have been a reason for termites to appear.

I understand your point. The listing agent's job it to pursue the highest price for the home from the most solid buyer. Even in this buyers market there are homes that sell well over asking price because they are priced right.
You see, Dave, there are 3 types of properties on the market today.
1. Great Ready to move in homes priced at or below market value
2. Foreclosures and Short Sales
3. Overpriced homes stuck in "languishworld".
Sometimes listing agents encourage the seller to list below market to create urgency and bidding wars. As a result, this usually drives up the house price to fair market value.
If the house that your brother and fiance wanted was outbid, it isn't up to the listing agent to ask for counter-offers. It is up to the seller to ask the listing agent to solicit counter offers. So perhaps the seller just wanted to take this offer because he needed to close quick or whatever other reason.
