Just about anywhere south of Kennedy. Hyde Park, Channelside. There is plenty to choose from, but as a Realtor, I would never "steer" you anywhere. There is nightlife and fun all over the Bay area. Good luck!!! - Mon Oct 22 2007, 17:59

is it a good time to buy a condo in Ybor?

Norma Newgent answered:
The real question is do you want to live in Ybor. There have been several serious attempts to revitalize Ybor but none have really stuck. There are many great areas to buy around Ybor (Seminole Heights, Channelside, South Tampa, Brandon, to name a few) that will give you access to all amenities but will also hold it's value for you. There are good townhomes in Ybor, but be careful with your choices. - Mon Oct 22 2007, 17:51

how do I learn the last time a house sold?

Norma Newgent answered:
Your local tax records should be online by now and it will have the current owners info and all sales information (probably towards the bottom of the page) It's actually easy to find. I'm a Realtor and I can tell you that you don't need a professional to get this info. Good luck! - Mon Oct 22 2007, 17:48

What is the Crime Rate Like?

Norma Newgent answered:
As is typical of most cities, Tampa and surrounding communities have areas that have been hit harder by crime than others. Having never lived anywhere else, I can tell you there are a couple of spots I avoid but for the most part, I have always felt safe. Brandon has a lot to offer. http://www.luckysailor.com http://www.TheDogThatBitMe.com

Norma Newgent answered:
Check with your Realtor to determine if the price is on point. It's possible the home has a loft or other flexible space that the listing agent felt was best used as a bedroom. A bedroom must have a closet by definition. But-the true value of a home is how you feel in it. Do you still like the home? Does it still serve your needs? You state you like the neighborhood and that is huge. Get the very best price for the home by listening to your agent and good luck! - Mon Oct 22 2007, 16:53
