If you can avoid renting out the TH, do so. Realtors have to give 24hrs before we can show rentals. This can cause your unit to miss being shown to out of staters here for the weekend.

Also, are you sure you can rent the unit month to month? Is there a HOA? It may only allow 12 or 7 month leases.

You need to be proactive and contact a lawyer or legal aid for answers about your rights.
We have a rental department to assist people wanting to rent.

Anne,

The most famous place today for what you are looking for is "The Villages". If you ever watch golf on TV I bet you saw their ad! It is North West of Orlando near Leesburg. Just put "The Villages" in Google to get info.
Also use Ocala, Gainesville, Lake Eustis, Mt. Dora to search. As a general rule, the further from the coast and the further North, the less it cost to live in Florida.

I would be amiss if I didn't tell you about St. Petersburg and Pinellas County. Miami and St. Pete have been retirement communities since the 1920's. We have great values here. Let me tell you about Sun City!

If your husband will be working in the Westshore or downtown Tampa you need to consider South Tampa!
A+ schools, great older homes, short drive time to everything.
