Geoff, see my earlier posting on August 24, when someone else was considering Sail Boat Bay. It it really one of my absolute favorite places. Why? It is off the beaten path. You get somewhat the security of being on Mobile Bay rather than directly facing the Gulf. We always loved the the end units where one could enjoy both the Intracoastal Canal goings-on as well as Mobile Bay. I did not care for the original units (the oldest on the place); I preferred the 3-bedroom and, depending on your plans and abilities, the units with elevators come in handy. Sail Boat Bay has been around for quite a while but it is, in my opinion and many years of renting in Gulf Shores, as well as being an original resident (just past the Indian stage), one of the best possible neighborhoods...whether for full-time or partial residence. - Wed Nov 12 2008, 19:17
