About Me
Hello! My name is Mindy Allen and I am a Realtor with Keller Williams Realty - Madison East. I currently reside in the Sun Prairie area with my new husband Dan (as of April 2007), our 3 dogs (Maizie is pictured above) and 3 cats. I am very active in my community and am a member of the Sun Prairie Chamber of Commerce.
I grew up in the Madison area and graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Madison in 2001 with a BS in Wildlife Ecology. Shortly after I moved to Boston, then to Indiana and finally back home, where my heart lies. I have been practicing Real Estate full time in Madison since 2004 and haven't looked back since.

Living in Dane County has allowed me to work with buyers from all over South Central Wisconsin. I have also had the wonderful opportunity to work with both first time homebuyers as well as real estate investors. In addition, I have been fortunate enough to help others relocate to the area from out of state and have helped make their transition as smooth as possible.

I am very active in my education and continuous training in real estate as the market and real estate laws change. Keller Williams has given me the tools necessary to help further my career and education on a daily basis. I am also an active member in the National Association of Realtors, the Wisconsin Realtors Association, my local MLS and the Women's Council of Realtors.

I would love the opportunity to help you in whatever real estate need you may have. From purchasing your first home or selling your family home. I also have wonderful referrals for everything from lenders to hair stylists to painters. Give me a call and let me know how I can help you today!

Where is the best lake for sailing in Madison?

Mindy Allen answered:
Lake Monona is a smaller, calmer lake and often has less boat traffic then its larger counterpart, Lake Mendota. Lake Mendota is larger and therefore can get a bit choppier and busier with traffic.
In addition you have Kegonsa and Waubesa as well. As I don't boat on those two lakes as much, I can't give you a great personal opinion. Thanks for your great question! - Thu Mar 6 2008, 14:05

Hello,

The Waunakee and Sun Prairie School Districts actually hold annual training events on autism and accomodating to their needs. The next training will be June 18th and 19th of this year. It may be a good event to attend and ask questions. Here is the link:

http://lms.spasd.k12.wi.us/gems/blbrews/Flyer.Autism.June.18…

The autism society of Madison is also a great resource for information on school districts. Their link ishttp:// www.autismmadison.org.

I hope this information can be of help to you. Also, in realty, McFarland is only 10 miles from downtown Madison and could still be a great option.

Take care and please let me know if I can be of further assistance. - Thu Mar 6 2008, 14:00

How is the general housing market in Madison?

Mindy Allen answered:
In one word, INCREDIBLE. In Dane County, our average home prices have increased 2.7% from 2007 to 2008 and almost 5% from 2006 to 2008, which is against many of the National Real Estate Trends. Our total home sales have decreased by over 7%, but much of that is due to a decrease in new home construction.
While most sellers may disagree with me, we are still in a GREAT buyer's market. There is no BAD market here, it just depends on what side of the transaction you are currently on.
Good luck and I hope you decide to call Madison home! - Thu Mar 6 2008, 13:51
Mindy Allen answered:
The condo market currently in Madison is very very soft. There are a surplus of condos with an absorption rate in Madison of over 16 months. If you are looking at a longer term investment (3 or more years minimum) then a condominium is a great way to go, and with so many available, there are deals to be had. However, your appreciation and profit on a condo vs. a single family home will be smaller. Take care and good luck in your search! - Thu Mar 6 2008, 13:46
