I just closed four short sales with Countrywide. I do not believe it is possible to get a negotiator quickly. But I do believe Countrywide is likely to postpone the foreclosure as long as the short sale process has been started. It is in their interest to do the short sale. Beware of their appraisals and BPOs: they often come in very high. You may have to challenge them. They will order a new BPO if you make the request. Overall the process was fine; other than the fact that it took about three months to get a "yes" from Countrywide. Due to the long process, we lost a couple of buyers. Plus the market declined and Countrywide had to take less than they would have gotten if they had assigned a negotiator right away. Good luck! Charlotte Laws - Thu Jul 17, 2008
